This Part a covers general aspects of stereoselective synthesis: nomenclature and vocabulary of organic stereochemistry, basic principles of EPC synthesis, determination on enantiomeric purity, determination of absolute and relative configuration; synthesis of axially chiral compounds - allenes and biaryls; synthesis of chiral compounds by bond disconnection; and synthesis of chiral compounds by bond formation - formation of C-C-bonds.
