Résumé : |
"Infrared spectroscopy is probably the most widely used technique in organic and molecular chemistry ofr the study of molecular structure. Infrared vibrational frequencies of specific molecular groups move with changes in their environment, either from structural change or from changes of state and the correct interpretation of spectra is dependant upon a knowledge of such mechanisms and how they operate in a particular case.
This book remains the only one dealing specifically with group frequency changes. In the second edition at least a third of the text is replaced by new material covering the important advances in the last ten years. These have added greatly to our understanting of group frequencies and underlying chemical mechanisms of change, and the book will be of great value to analytical and organic chemists and spectroscopists in both academic and industrial research.
The firts edition of this book was published with the title Advances in Infrared Group Frequencies. This second edition has been retitled to emphasize its relationship to Dr Bellamy's companion work The Infrared Spectra of Complex Molecules, Volume One, a description of which is given on the back cover." |
