ORGANOMETALLIC COMPOUNDS |
Résumé : |
"Volume I describes the principle features of the organic chemistry of the main group metals, with some emphasis on preparative methods, structural problems and co-odination chemistry. Since the publication of the second edition there has been substantial progress in the chemistry of light metal alkyl hybrides, and discussion of several important and recently determined structures are included. Though the preparation of the third edition has required the re-writting of the whole of the earlier one, the sections on alkali metals, beryllium, magnesium, zinc, boron, aluminium, and tin have required particularly extensive modification and enlargement.
In this volume the classification by Periodic Group, as used in earlier editions is retained. The organic chemistry of the main group metals tends to be more characteristic of the Periodic Group to which the metal belongs than of the ligand to which the metal is attached. Classification by ligand has, however, been introduced in volume two as more suitable to a discussion of the compounds of the transition metals." |
