Résumé : |
"Mixed-valence compounds - those containing an element in more than one oxidation state - have been the subject of intense study in the past decade and this volume represents the first comprehensive treatment of this fascinating class of materials. The book includes extensive theoretical discussion of the bonding in mixed-valence compounds and of the nature of the intervalence transfer process. Important techniques for the study of mixed-valence compounds, including magnetism, Mossbauer spectroscopy, resonance Raman spectroscopy, and photoelectron spectroscopy, are discussed. Several different classes and examples of mixed-valence compounds are surveyed in detail. Thus, this book is the only complete treatment of a class of materials which have been shown to be important in chemistry, physics, geology, and biology.
The book willl be of interest to solid state physicists and chemists, especially inorganic chemists." |
Note de contenu : |
"* An overview of mixed-valency
* Models for the mixed-valence state
* Experimental probes to mixed-valence compounds
* Classes of mixed-valence materials." |
