"The purpose of this meeting was to bring together workers with diverse interests in photoelectron spectroscopy, to discuss recent progress and problems of common interest. A total of 225 scientists attended, including workers from 12 countries. A very wide range of fields was represented, including semiconductor, atomic, and metal physics, physical, organic, inorganic, and analytical chemistry, catalysis, and several others. Each formal session included one or two invited papers and up to five contributed papers. In the volume these are arranged essentially in order of presentation with each chapter corresponding to a session." |
