Résumé : |
"Since the global malaria eradication programme failed, malaria is likely to remain one of the world's worst health problems, killing more than a million people a year, most of them children. This picture book has been based on an exhibition arranged by the Wellcome Tropical Medicine Institute. The aim of the text, which has been written so that it can easily be understood by secondary school pupils and non-specialists, is to provide an informative account of the disease. New information from modern laboratory techniques has been incorporated fully in this account, which discusses the possibilities for vaccine production using new technology, and the history of its treatment and management programmes." |
