Résumé : |
"A discussion of the nature of the forces responsible for the intermolecularintractiions between biological compounds. The contributors proveide a thorough analysis of the theoretical and quantum mechanical aspects of the problem in conjunction with a continual analysis of the relationshipp between theory and experiment. Extensive consideration is given to hydrogen bonding, van der Waals-London forces, charge transfer and the significance of these types of interaction for macromolecular structure, protein-nucleic acid interactions, the interactions of nucl'eic acids withe carcinogens or mutagens, and the structure of coenzymes and membranes.
Biochemists, biophysicists, physical chemists, organic chemists, and quantum chemists will find the unique work, covering one of the central problem in modern molecular biology, particularly valuable." |
