Inorganic aspects of biological and organic chemistry. / Robert P. Hanzlik
Titre : Inorganic aspects of biological and organic chemistry. Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Robert P. Hanzlik Editeur : New-York : Academic Press Année de publication : 1976 Importance : xi, 402 p. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-12-324050-7 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Chimie de coordination, Chimie organométallique, Métaux de transition Tags : ORGANOMETALLIC COMPOUNDS INORGANIC COMPOUNDS BIOCHEMISTRY Résumé : "Inorganic Aspects of Biological and Organic Chemistry investigates the inorganic aspects of biological and organic chemistry. Topics include the inorganic chemistry of group Ia and IIa metals; complexes of Ia and IIa cations in organic and biological chemistry; atomic structure and structure-activity correlations; and bonding in ligands and metal complexes. Ligand exchange reactions and factors in complex stability are also discussed.
Comprised of 12 chapters, this book begins with an overview of some of the important roles of metals in biological and organic chemistry, followed by an analysis of the inorganic chemistry of group Ia and IIa metals. Complexes of Ia and IIa cations in organic and biological chemistry are then described, together with atomic structure and structure-activity correlations. Subsequent chapters deal with bonding in ligands and metal complexes; ligand exchange reactions and factors in complex stability; redox potentials and processes; and the influence of metal ions on equilibria. The book also considers catalysis by metal ions, metal complexes, and metalloenzymes before concluding with a chapter that examines the reactions of ligands in organometallic complexes.
This monograph is written for teachers, students, and practitioners of organic, biological, and inorganic chemistry."Cote : B-D016 (SdS) Num_Inv : 260 Inorganic aspects of biological and organic chemistry. [texte imprimé] / Robert P. Hanzlik . - New-York : Academic Press, 1976 . - xi, 402 p.

It includes a series of lectures that examine both the formal foundations and the experimental verification of pi-electron theories, and discuss the nature of pi-electron approximations, the predictions of electronic spectra, and charge distributions in hetero-molecules." Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Chimie théorique Tags : QUANTUM CHEMISTRY Résumé : "The effects of electron correlation on binding energies and on forces in gases and in dense media are surveyed in this volume. Particular emphasis is placed on cases where correlation effects are strong enough to alter even the qualitative aspects of models constructed solely on the basis of orbital theory. Recent developments are stressed through-out the book.
Among the topics covered are: interactions betweeen electrons and dense media; intermolecular forces in gases, liquids and solids; solvent effects; and electron correlation in metals and systems of infinite extent."Cote : B-H012 (SdS) Num_Inv : 391 Modern quantum chemistry : istanbul lectures.
