Index. décimale : |
B-E |
Résumé : |
"Edited by leading experts and pioneers in the field, this is the first up-to-date book on this hot topic.
The authors provide synthetic chemists with different methods to activate carbon-carbon sigma bonds in organic molecules promoted by transition metal complexes. They explain the basic principles and strategies for carbon-carbon bond cleavage and highlight recently developed synthetic protocols based on this methodology. In so doing, they cover cleavage of C-C bonds in strained molecules, reactions involving elimination of carbon dioxide and ketones, reactions via retroallylation, and cleavage of C-C bonds of ketones and nitriles.
The result is an excellent information source for researchers in academia and industry working in the field of synthetic organic chemistry, while equally serving as supplementary reading for advanced courses in organometallic chemistry and catalysis." |

Index. décimale : |
B-D |
Résumé : |
"This first introduction to the rapidly growing field of molecular magnetism is written with Masters and PhD students in mind, while postdocs and other newcomers will also find it an extremely useful guide.
Adopting a clear didactic approach, the authors cover the fundamental concepts, providing many examples and give an overview of the most important techniques and key applications. Although the focus is one lanthanide ions, thus reflecting the current research in the field, the principles and the methods equally apply to other systems.
The result is an excellent textbook from both a scientific and pedagogic point of view." |

TRANSITION METALS |
Résumé : |
"The early transition metals are sufficiently well related to ech other, and different form elements in other areas of the periodic table to justify a work covering their chemistry in some detail. This extends over a wide range of oxidation states and is fairly complex, though some what neglected. This work is a critical review of groups IV, V and VI of the classification.
The first chapter covers the features characteristic of the early transition metsl. Particular emphasis is place on high co-ordination numbers, metal-metal bonding, and isopoly and hetero-polyanions. Each of the remaining chapters deals with one of the groups of the early transition metals; the chapters being divided into sections covering each oxiation state, and subections, each dealing with a type of compound. By bringing together material covered only in the original reseach litterature, Dr. Kepert provides an invaluable advanced text and complete reference work." |

TRANSITION METALS |
Index. décimale : |
B-D |
Résumé : |
"This series is devoted to the science of the transition elements and is geared to research scientists, graduate students, and teachers of advanced inorganic chemistry. As transition metal chemistry is one of the oldest and largest areas of research in inorganic chemistry, the many facets of its progress will be surveyed regularly, attention being paid to both theoretical and experimental aspects, as well as the borderline areas. New subjects of transition metal physics and transition metal biology will also be reviewed as it is here that some of the more important future discoveries will be made. The editor has been able to secure the cooperation of outstanding scientists in this field, whose contributions will be up-to-date reviews of subjects of the highest current interest." |
Note de contenu : |
"* Electronic structure and stereochemistry of cobalt(II)
* Aqueous chemistry of chromium(III)
* Hydride complexes of transition metals
* Electronic structures of square planar metal complexes." |
