Titre : Advances in Dendritic Macromolecules. Volume 4 Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : George R. Newkome, Éditeur scientifique ; M. A. Hearshaw, Éditeur scientifique ; M. H. P. Van Genderen, Éditeur scientifique ; Hak-Fun Chow, Éditeur scientifique Editeur : London [England] : Jai Press Année de publication : 1999 Importance : 206 p. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-7623-0347-2 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : ORGANOMETALLIC-Synthesis DENDRIMERS Index. décimale : EQ -Equipe- Résumé : 3The field of hyperbranched macromolecules, specifically dendrimers, has continued to expand at an amazing rate. The synthetic aspects, which were assumed to be over several years ago, have opened new avenues into the mesomolecular regime. The synthetic ingenuity of chemical artists has afforded new monomers and their diverse combinations to give rise to (poly)functionalized materials that embrace new supramolecular concepts in areas such as molecular recognition, assembly, encapsulation, and inclusion; catalysts; coatings; drug delivery systems; and in essence opens up the field of suprasupermolecular chemistry. In chapter 1 the synthesis of organometallic and related transition metal-cotaining dendrimers is summarized and their novel properties and useful applications are described. Chapter 2 covers work on the commercial poly(propylene imine)s, including the "dendritic box", dendrimer-based superamphiphiles, and unimolecular inverse micelles. The next chapter looks at aspects of chirality in dendritic systems and this is followed by a look inside dendrimers from a molecular topologist's point-of-view." Titre : Applications of dendrimers in drug delivery. Principles and approaches Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Somayeh Handali, Éditeur scientifique ; Eskandar Moghimipour, Éditeur scientifique Editeur : Saarebruck : Lambert Academic Publishing Année de publication : 2012 Importance : 55 p. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-659-20667-2 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : DENDRIMERS DENDRIMERS IN DRUG DELIVERY Index. décimale : EQ -Equipe- Résumé : "Dendrimers are spherical and repetitively branched molecules polymeric molecules. The name of dendrimers comes from two words, Greek word dendron, meaning tree and meros, meaning parts. Dendrimers consist of a core molecule and alternating layers of two monomers. The physical characteristics of dendrimers, including their monodispersity, water solubility, encapsulation ability, and large number of functionalizable peripheral groups, make these macromolecules appropriate candidates for evaluation as drug delivery, diagnostic, gene delivery and chemotherapy. There are several routs of administration, including intravenous and oral. There are two defined methods of dendrimer synthesis, divergent synthesis and convergent synthesis." They can be used in various medical applications, such as anticancer polymeric nanomedicines and nanocarriers, gene carriers and vectors in gene delivery, contrast agents for molecular imaging and vaccines against infectious diseases and cancer. The highly branched, multivalent nature and molecular architecture of dendrimers make them ideal tools for a variety of tissue engineering applications. This book describes different categories of dendrimers, their biomedical and physico-chemical applications as well as convergent and divergent syntheses, click chemistry and ligation strategies. It is a rich source of information for researchers in biochemistry and pharmacology working on drug development as well as for organic chemists who are engaged in synthesis of dendrimers."
